Might be worth growing giant crops. They've a 100% chance to spawn secret notes. Or alternatively fish on floor 100 in the normal mines, as there's tons and tons of trash, which could be turned into a secret note. And if you're visiting the skull caverns regularly, then obviously using bombs to destroy as many stone as possible is also an option.

Use staircases to reach level 100. Try to find some jades from the normal mines and put them in your crystalarium(s) to make copies of it. Every Sunday, trade the jades you get for staircases and repeat until you get 100. Try to go on a lucky day for a better chance to get a dinosaur egg.

Best of luck on your dive. Don't give up it might take a few attempts as even with a lucky day you can still get bad spawns for the shafts or stairs. So be prepared to restock and try again.
